The Commission functions as the policy review and planning body on all matters dealing with aging. It analyzes the services provided for senior citizens by the community through both public and private agencies. The Commission makes recommendations to the First Selectman regarding the development and integration of community services by public and/or private means, in cooperation with state and other jurisdictions to the fullest extent possible.
The Commission consists of nine members, including the First Selectman (ex-officio), and three alternates. Members of the Commission on Aging are Town officials appointed by the First Selectman.

Municipal Agent for the Elderly: Angelica Fontanez
The municipal agent shall:
- Disseminate information to elderly persons and assist them in learning about community resources available to them, while publicizing such resources and benefits.
- Assist elderly persons in applying for federal and other benefits available to them.
- Submit written reports at least annually to the chief elected official, chief executive officer, legislative body, and committee or commission on aging of the municipality (if any), as well as to the Department of Social Services, detailing the services provided, the needs and problems of the elderly, and any recommendations for municipal action regarding elderly persons.
