Absentee Ballot Information for November 3, 2026 Election
On November 3, 2026, a State Election will be held in Redding -. All in-person voting will be held at Redding Community Center, 37 Lonetown Road, Redding. Early voting will be held October 19-26, 28, 30, 31 & November 1st: from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and October 27 & 29: from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. NOTE: There is no early voting on Monday, November 2nd. Absentee Ballots are available from the Town Clerk beginning October 2, 2026.
What is no-excuse absentee voting?
Under “no excuse” absentee voting, any qualified voter (i.e., elector) may apply for and vote by absentee ballot, before the day of an election. In contrast to regular absentee voting, the voter is not required to provide a reason for why he or she wants to vote by absentee ballot.
Online Portal to Apply for an Absentee Ballot – (opens September 19, 2026)
If you are a registered voter with a valid CT DMV Driver’s License or State ID, you can apply online for an absentee ballot. The Town Clerk will be notified of your application and will mail your ballot to the designated address. Access the online application portal for absentee ballots.
If you do not have a valid CT DMV ID on file, you must complete a paper application. See instructions below.
Application to Apply for an Absentee Ballot in Person or by Mail
Download Application for Absentee Ballot, complete and drop it off or mail it to the Town Clerk. Completed applications can be dropped in the Ballot Box located on the porch of Town Hall or mailed to:

If you are not already registered to vote, you can complete a registration form at Town Hall with the Registrar of Voters or the Town Clerk. You can download the voter registration form here or register online at the Connecticut voter registration website.
Federal Post Card Application (FPCA)
This form is for absent Uniformed Service members, their families, and citizens residing outside the United States. It is used to register to vote, request an absentee ballot, and update contact information. Download the FPCA form here.
Early Voting
Early Voting will be available daily for 14 days prior to a general election, 7 days prior to a primary election, and 4 days prior to a presidential preference primary or a special election. Early Voting is not available for referendums.
