Revitalize Georgetown

The Revitalize Georgetown plan is the culmination of a process that began in May of 2025 with public community meetings, workshops, focus groups, and surveys, to gather community input in order to develop a broad citizen based vision plan to implement over time, to support the evolution of Georgetown Village as a vibrant neighborhood where business and residents will thrive.

The project was funded by a $200,000 grant from the State of Connecticut’s Department of Economic and Community Redevelopment Brownfield Program to conduct a planning study for the Georgetown Village. The firm Pirie Associates was selected in a competitive process to conduct the study. The consultant team led by Laura Pirie of Pirie Associates includes members from BJH Advisors (Steve Jacobs) and Langan (engineering). Between May 2025 and July 2026, Pirie Associates conducted focus groups, community meetings, and surveys, all intended to engage Redding citizens in discussion and visioning about the future of development in Georgetown Village.

Revitalize Georgetown – Planning Vision Presentation

Pirie Associates presented the Vision Plan for revitalization of the Georgetown Village at a public form on Sunday May 3, 2026.

Planning Concept Workshop

On October 4th, the consultant team led by Laura Pirie held a public session to deliver a presentation detailing three planning concepts for Georgetown Village. The planning concepts are the product of the feedback received to date from focus groups, community meetings, surveys, and engagement with residents, local business owners, and community organizations.

Planning Concept Survey

At the end of the workshop session, in person attendees were asked to complete a survey. Members of the community who were not able to attend in person were encouraged to view the workshop and complete the online survey. The October 4th workshop is available to watch online (linked at the bottom of this page).  The session runs nearly 3 hours so we’ve highlighted key information points in the video with bookmarked links. Results of the survey informed which of the three options was selected for further refinement and presentation as the project’s final planning concept.
